It was simply a question of time till a single-board computer at form factor of Raspberry Pi B+/2 with Intel Atom CPU was published. In 2014/2015 some Processor varieties for tablets, smartphones etc. were developed, which supplies energy-efficient (ca. 2W) processing power to a highly cheap price.

he first is the UP board with the Intel Core Atom Processor x5-Z8300. The electricity consumption of CPU + RAM + eMMC should be at 5 W. Price is from 100 € depending on configuration incl. Tax plus 15 Euro shipping to Germany.

This version is a pre-production and is different from the mass production.
